CALGARY, Alberta – It turns out that from the 60s all the way through this decade, many architects overlooked the fact that it snows in downtown Calgary. You will see evidence of this thoughout downtown Calgary streets by way of warning signs being placed in the troubled areas during the winter months.
When asked why this happens in the leading edge metropolis that is downtown Calgary, the head of the Architects Association of Lower Alberta was blunt in saying,
“There is really no excuse for this. I cannot fathom how registered, professional, licensed architects could overlook such an apparent fact of climate in the Calgary area. We’re in Calgary for Pete’s sake and it snows here in the winter – that’s what happens in Calgary in the winter – it snows. #facepalm”

Seventeen injuries have been reported as a result of ice falling from rooftops so far this winter of 2012/2013, with 3 of the injuries requiring overnight hospital stays. Just last week, disoriented downtown Calgary pedestrian, Eugenio Delacruz (seen below), responded to questions from paramedics,
What time is it? Did I miss my 2:30 job interview? What’s going on? Who are you guys? Where am I?
WILL ONE OF YOU PLEASE TELL ME WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON???!!”
